Chelsea are huge admirers of Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams.
That is according to well-respected journalist Simon Phillips.
There’s still several months ahead before the transfer window re-opens for the summer, but names continue to pop up in the rumour mill.
Nico Williams, 21, is a highly-rated youngster starring for an Athletic Bilbao side that sit fifth in La Liga.
The Spain international, who’s got 11 caps for his country, is an explosive winger with serious pace and ability.
Now, he’s rumoured to be on Chelsea’s radar.
Simon Phillips reports via his Substack on Wednesday that Chelsea “really like” Williams.
It is explained the Blues have been watching the 21-year-old attacker closely for the last couple of seasons.

But he’s added that there’s nothing advanced with this potential deal.
Chelsea really like Nico Williams
Fabrizio Romano recently claimed on Substack that Chelsea and Arsenal scouts have both been to watch Williams.
The skilful left-winger’s having a strong individual season, scoring five goals and making 10 assists in 24 games across all competitions.
For context, Chelsea talisman Cole Palmer has nine assists in 28 Blues appearances.
Our feeling right now is that the immediate focus in the next transfer window should be on the signing of a new prolific No 9 before looking elsewhere. Afterwards, you’d maybe need another centre-half to replace veteran Thiago Silva.
There’s plenty of talent in wide positions at Stamford Bridge, but we need to see more from the likes of Raheem Sterling, Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk.
