Chelsea are at the front of the queue for Aberdeen youngster Lewis Carrol.
Chelsea and Arsenal are both leading the race for Lewis Carrol and want him for the summer, according to The Athletic.
However, the same outlet claims that Aberdeen are ready to fast track the centre-back into their first team as they look to keep hold of him.
Also per The Athletic, Carrol has been compared to Manchester City and England defender John Stones because of his height and ability to bring the ball out of defence.
Carrol would be the latest young talent to join Chelsea, who have focused on bringing in players with potential since their takeover in 2022. Lesley Ugochukwu, 19, and Deivid Washington, 18, both signed for the club last summer, for example.
Should Chelsea sign Lewis Carrol?
If there is a chance that Carrol could develop into a defender like Stones, then yes.
Stones is the epitome of a modern-day centre-half, able to play with the ball and not just hoof it into row Z.

His pass success rate of 95.1% is currently the highest in Manchester City’s squad (WhoScored).
At 15, it is obviously way too early in Carrol’s career to know for certain if he can become as good as someone like Stones. But if the potential is there and the compensation fee to sign him is not ridiculous, which you would not expect it to be given his age, then there is little harm in Chelsea bringing the young defender to Cobham.
Chelsea supporters, however, will be more concerned about the club’s current centre-back options. Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana keep getting injured, while Thiago Silva is likely to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season when his contract expires. A 15-year-old Carrol will not fix any of those issues now, and that is the thing that will be on their minds.
