Chelsea will be delighted with one of their recent signings.

While it is not even July yet, Chelsea have still been able to bring in quite a few players.

Omari Kellyman has just joined the club from Aston Villa, while there is also a deal in place to sign Estevao Willian from Palmeiras.

Chelsea have brought in Tosin Adarabioyo as well after he reached the end of his contract at Fulham, and another Premier League player, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, is set to join him at Stamford Bridge.

It has been claimed that Dewsbury-Hall’s medical ahead of his move to Enzo Maresca‘s side is today.

Chelsea had recent signing on their radar for a while

One of Chelsea’s new additions was not a new target it seems.

According to the Sunday Mirror (page 72, 30/06/2024), Kellyman is a player who Chelsea considered signing in January.

The outlet claims that the Blues had been tracking him for months.

And while Chelsea did not land the 18-year-old in the winter transfer window, they have at least managed to sign him now.

When could Omari Kellyman make his debut for Chelsea?

Kellyman is still only 18 and has very little Premier League experience.

Before his move to Chelsea, the attacking midfielder made just six appearances in the top flight at Villa.

Nevertheless, despite his lack of experience, it still looks like Kellyman could have a role to play under Maresca next season.

Chelsea’s official website confirmed that he is going to join his new teammates for pre-season, so it seems like he will get a chance to be part of the senior squad.

It means his debut for the first team could actually come in the 2024/25 campaign.

Kellyman’s attitude was described as “exemplary” by Villa academy manager Mark Harrison last year. If he can show that kind of attitude at Chelsea, perhaps he could end up becoming a first-team player for them next season.
