Chelsea have reportedly run into a significant problem when it comes to their hopes of signing a £35m transfer target.

The Blues have certainly been fast to act in this summer transfer window by bringing in several new recruits already, but they continue to be linked with other names in the rumour mill.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu and Omari Kellyman have all joined the club this summer.

Next, Chelsea have been linked with a big talent in the German top division. But there’s a problem with their interest.

Karim Adeyemi doesn’t like the idea of joining Chelsea

According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea have shown interest during this summer window in signing Borussia Dortmund attacker Karim Adeyemi.

It is understood that the German Bundesliga side are open to selling him for around £35m, too.

The reports claims that 22-year-old Adeyemi is understood to be unreceptive to a move to Chelsea.

That’s because the German winger only wants to join a team that is playing in the Champions League next season if he is to leave Dortmund this summer.

Unfortunately, Chelsea only managed to secure a spot in the UEFA Conference League competition.

TEAMtalk recently claimed that Chelsea still plan to sign a right-footed wide player, with Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville on their radar.

It doesn’t sound like Adeyemi will be on his way to West London, though.

Blues wingers need to step up next season

It would be great for Chelsea to add one more option in the wide areas for the 2024/25 campaign, but there’s actually some quality options already on the books.

Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke are Blues wingers capable of improving on last year.

Here below is how each of them performed for Chelsea last season across all competitions:

Player name Appearances Goals Assists
Raheem Sterling 43 10 8
Mykhailo Mudryk 41 7 2
Noni Madueke 34 8 3

For each of them, they should be targeting 20 goals and assists combined over the course of a season, especially one with European fixtures.
