Chelsea look desperate to offload one of their players in the summer.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is currently on loan at Real Madrid and Chelsea are keen for the goalkeeper to remain there.

According to Defensa Central, despite having initially wanted €30m (£25.6m) for Kepa, the Blues have now offered him to the Spanish club for just €15m (£12.8m).

Real Madrid brought the 29-year-old in following a long-term injury to Thibaut Courtois.

He has made 18 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season, with 12 coming in La Liga.

Chelsea ready to sell Kepa Arrizabalaga for just £13m

Chelsea are going to make a gigantic loss when they sell Kepa, but they really need to get him off their books for good.

With Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez both at the club, he has no future in west London.

Sanchez replaced Kepa as Chelsea’s No.1 but then got injured, allowing Petrovic to come into the team. And since being given an opportunity, the Serbian has not disappointed, so Mauricio Pochettino looks to have two very capable goalkeepers in his squad.

The former Paris Saint-Germain boss has labelled Petrovic’s recent performances “amazing”.

Ultimately, it is not a shock that Chelsea are offering Kepa out for less than £15m. They have already allowed him to leave the club on loan, showing that he is not needed in their first-team squad, and will want to offload his wages.

They need to offload his wages because again, you just cannot see a future for the Spaniard at Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of Petrovic and Sanchez. He has been replaced.

It will now be interesting to see whether Real Madrid are willing to pay £13m to sign Kepa permanently and if the Spain international is happy to be Courtois’ deputy in the 2024/25 season and beyond.
