Chelsea believe that a player on their books have seen his valuation increase since he joined a couple of years ago.

There’s been a real focus in Chelsea’s transfer strategy during recent years to recruit youngsters, so you’d hope that over time they get back some great rewards on their investments.

Omari Hutchinson, who the Blues signed back in 2022, is an example of a player’s valuation flying up.

The 20-year-old youngster was sold by Chelsea to Ipswich Town this summer in a deal worth up to £22.5m (BBC).

Chelsea think Carney Chukwuemeka is now worth more

The Athletic claims that Chelsea value their youngster Carney Chukwuemeka very highly.

It is understood that the Blues think his valuation has gone up since he arrived at Stamford Bridge two years ago from Aston Villa for £20m.

The report says that AC Milan have expressed an interest in signing midfield talent Chukwuemeka. However, Chelsea have dismissed suggestions they would consider a loan with an option to buy.

Instead, the Blues will only sell or keep their first-team players this summer.

Elsewhere, journalist Fabrizio Romano recently claimed via his YouTube channel that Chelsea have no intention of loaning out Chukwuemeka. They’re really happy with him and only a really good offer could lead to a permanent exit.

A big 2024/25 season ahead

The reality is that Chukwuemeka’s first two years as a Chelsea player has been largely wrecked by injuries. He’s played just 27 times so far with the Blues.

There’s a lot to like about the attacking midfielder, but the competition for places at the club is stiff.

Let’s hope that he can find rhythm and form next season at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking via Chelsea’s YouTube channel last year, Marcus Bettinelli hailed teammate Chukwuemeka as someone with an “unbelievable” first touch.

Can he earn a midfield spot under new Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca?
