Chelsea are expected to include several youngsters from their latest batch of academy talents on the club’s pre-season tour this summer.

Chelsea have been bringing through young stars at Cobham for so long now.

So, who can follow in the recent footsteps of Blues first teamers such as Reece James, Levi Colwill and Conor Gallagher?

It’s usually a great opportunity during the summer for academy talents to get a look-in around the senior group, especially with the imminent change of management.

The Telegraph reports that Chelsea are poised to announce Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca as their new head coach on a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Four Chelsea youngsters set for US pre-season tour

The Daily Mail has now named four Chelsea youngsters that are ‘likely’ to be involved in a wider first-team group during the summer’s pre-season trip to the United States.

It is understood that Blues prospects Tyrique George, Kiano Dyer, Josh Acheampong and Ishe Samuels-Smith are expected to be part of the pre-season tour.

While incoming manager Maresca will be busy learning about his first-team squad, there could also be a great opportunity for the youngsters to catch his eye.

The 44-year-old Italian coach previously managed Manchester City’s youth team, where he worked with Cole Palmer and Romeo Lavia. Therefore, you’d hope he has a good understanding of Chelsea’s rising stars.

Who are Tyrique George, Kiano Dyer, Josh Acheampong and Ishe Samuels-Smith?

From Chelsea’s young quartet, Acheampong is the only one to make his first-team debut.

The 18-year-old right-back made his only senior appearance to date with an eye-catching cameo versus Tottenham in the Premier League at the start of May.

Elsewhere, George, 18, is a fast winger who’s had several appearances on the bench in the Premier League without getting on for a debut. He finished this campaign with 14 goals and 10 assists in 34 Chelsea appearances across various age groups.

Dyer (midfielder) and Samuels-Smith (left-back), both aged 17, are two more highly-rated Blues youngsters with important roles in the club’s Under-21s side.
