Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is keen on a return to the Premier League.
Thomas Tuchel will be available in the summer after agreeing to leave Bayern Munich, with the German club really struggling under him at the minute.
According to The Sun, the 50-year-old would be interested in taking over at Manchester United or Newcastle United if opportunities popped up there.
Despite his struggles at Bayern, Tuchel’s stock still looks to be high, with it being reported that another Premier League outfit, West Ham United, have a long-term interest in the German.
Bayern are trailing Bayer Leverkusen in the title race by eight points and are 90 minutes away from getting knocked out of the Champions League after losing the first leg of their last-16 tie against Lazio 1-0.
Would Thomas Tuchel be interested in a return to Chelsea?
Things did not end well between Tuchel and Chelsea’s new owners, who sacked him early into their reign at the club and the 2022/23 season. Therefore, it would be a shock if the Bayern boss came back to Stamford Bridge.
We doubt he would be keen on working under Todd Boehly again. As well as that, Mauricio Pochettino looks like he could survive this season.
MORE CHELSEA STORIES
Chelsea are not having a great Premier League campaign, currently finding themselves sitting 10th in the table.
However, they are into the Carabao Cup final, taking on Liverpool at Wembley this weekend. If they can win that, it alone may be enough to get Pochettino into next season.
Whatever the case, we do not see Tuchel returning to west London. Never say never, there are only so many elite managers in the world. One day, maybe Chelsea find themselves in a position where they have to consider their former head coach. As of now, though, that just seems unlikely after his shock dismissal in 2022.
