Former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino may not be out of a job for too long.

Chelsea confirmed on Tuesday that Mauricio Pochettino had left the club by mutual consent.

The Argentine was unable to bring Champions League football back to Stamford Bridge, but the job he did there was not terrible.

In the end, despite having to contend with injuries all season, Pochettino was still able to guide Chelsea to sixth place after a terrific run of form towards the end of the campaign.

Nevertheless, both parties wanted to go their separate ways, with Burnley boss Vincent Kompany now one name being linked to west London.

Mauricio Pochettino already attracting interest

It has not even been a full day yet since Pochettino’s departure from Stamford Bridge, but the 52-year-old already appears to have a few clubs on his trail.

According to The Independent, three of Europe’s biggest sides are keen on him.

The outlet claims that Pochettino is of interest to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester United, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Juventus and Bayern are in a similar position to Chelsea, with the former sacking Massimiliano Allegri and the latter parting ways with Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel has actually been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge, but insider Graeme Bailey has told The Chelsea Chronicle that a homecoming is unlikely.

Why Chelsea cannot afford for Mauricio Pochettino to join Manchester United

Pochettino joining United after his Chelsea exit has the potential to be an absolute disaster for the Blues.

If things go well for him there, while Chelsea and whoever they appoint have a poor 2024/25 season, even more questions are going to be asked about the club and this ownership.

They would have let a very good manager join one of their rivals for nothing.

Ultimately, it probably would have been better if they persuaded Pochettino to stay in west London, but it is quite clear that those in charge were happy for him to walk.
