Rio Ferdinand jokingly threatened to strangle Sergio Aguero in a chaotic interview following Manchester City’s Champions League Triumph.

The Argentine was called pitchside to offer a few words to BT Sport after seeing his former side complete a historic treble.

Among those waiting for Aguero was former Manchester United defender Ferdinand, Cesc Fabregas, ex-City teammate Mario Balotelli.

As Aguero was handed the microphone Ferdinand immediately took aim at him, referring to the former City striker’s last-gasp title-clinching goal in 2012 that prised the title away from Old Trafford.

“I don’t even want to be here now I’ve got to be honest with you,” Ferdinand said. “This guy broke my heart man, he broke my heart. I can’t even look at him right now.”

Aguero then replied: “Are you okay?,” to which Ferdinand jokingly hit back with: “I will strangle you.”

The interview then took a turn when match-winner Rodri gatecrashed the party and hugged Aguero before quickly being ushered away to continue his celebrations.

After a delayed start, Aguero was finally able to offer some words for his former club after their triumphant campaign.

He added: “First I’m so happy because for me I love to see this for that moment. The last Champions League, we lose. Now, I’m so happy because finally it’s for Man City.”

But that was the end of Aguero’s attempts to speak in English for now as he preferred to revert to his native Spanish with the help of Cesc Fabregas, who stood in as translator.

When asked whether he has a word for the fans on what was a special night for the club, Aguero said via Fabregas: “He’s very proud of playing here because he’s one of the players that started off everything.

“He feels privileged about the whole process and he gets emotional to remember the whole thing and two years ago they lost the final and were disappointed but they bounced back. They are here again finally winning it and it shows the whole process was worth it.”

Aguero did drop in a little more English as the interview drew to a close saying: “Thank you everyone, thank you for Man City and I love City.”

But the interview then took another bizarre turn when Balotelli randomly replied: “I love City.”

“You liar,” Aguero jokingly hit back at the Italian.

Balotelli, clearly more confident with speaking English than the Argentine, continued the discussion with his former teammate as Aguero got the final word in before scampering away.

“I forget English because I’m going to Miami now with Messi,” Aguero uttered.
