Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku got some more game time into his legs with a very late cameo appearance in yesterday’s superb win over Aston Villa.

The Blues recorded a 3-1 away victory against Villa to progress into the FA Cup fifth round.

For Christopher Nkunku, he only played the final closing moments as he’s carefully monitored during his return from injury.

Despite limited time to make an impact, the 26-year-old attacker did still make one memorable contribution that excited the travelling supporters at Villa Park.

He showed off his incredible technique by picking out a long and high kick from the goalkeeper perfectly from the sky.

BBC pundit Dion Dublin was left amazed by Nkunku’s technique for his incredible first touch and control against Villa. In addition, he suggests that the French forward could be crucial for Chelsea in the remaining months of the season.

“There was one moment when Nkunku came on and the keeper launched it down the pitch. It went up in the air, and it had snow on it, and it landed about 10 yards away from Aston Villa’s box. He brought it down and it just stuck to his right foot,” Dublin told the BBC’s Football Daily podcast.

“They are the things that have made that player what he is. He’s got such good feet. He brought it down and kept hold of the ball. That kind of quality he has.

“He has to bring it for Chelsea week in week out. He’s got his fitness back. He’s looking good.”

Christopher Nkunku technique

Nkunku has already captured the imagination of the Chelsea fanbase during seven brief appearances for the club.

The £52m Frenchman (Sky Sports) has been very unlucky with injury problems so far, but let’s hope he’s now over them and ready for a very important February.

It’s pretty obvious he possesses the magic touch in the final third that plenty of his teammates lack. At the age of 26, he’s coming into his prime years and has developed into a top player.

Speaking via Sky Sports recently, Raheem Sterling suggested Chelsea teammate Nkunku could be really important for the second half of the season.
