Chelsea look set to be without Enzo Fernandez for their game against Everton at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
Mauricio Pochettino suggested in his pre-match press conference on Friday that Enzo Fernandez was a doubt because of a small injury issue.
The midfielder could now miss his side’s Premier League clash versus Everton, but there is reason for Chelsea supporters to remain positive after an update from one journalist.
Fernandez has been a mainstay in Pochettino’s team, making 38 appearances in all competitions this season.
He did not have his best game last time out, losing possession 23 times against Sheffield United.

Why Enzo Fernandez may not play against Everton tomorrow
According to Pochettino, Fernandez is an injury doubt.
However, journalist Gaston Edul says it is nothing serious and Chelsea are just trying to be cautious with the 23-year-old.

Edul has claimed on X that Fernandez is just dealing with a bit of inflammation in his abductor and that there is now a chance that the Blues rest the Argentina international so he is at 100% for the Manchester City game next weekend.

Chelsea should rest Enzo Fernandez
As already mentioned, Fernandez is such a key player for Chelsea. They need him fit and at his best for the City game.
With that in mind, then, it may indeed be worth giving the former Benfica man some rest tomorrow.
Chelsea should have enough to beat Everton at home without Fernandez. If they do not, then that is a very worrying sign for the club.
The Toffees have already beaten their upcoming opponents this season, a 2-0 victory at Goodison Park, so it is obviously not impossible whether Fernandez starts or not. Now is not the time to risk his fitness, though.
