Chelsea supporters are not happy with the new home kit for the 2024/25 season, with some calling it ‘the worst’ in the club’s history.

Kit releases are an integral part of the build-up to a new campaign and usually drum up excitement within the fanbase.

That has not been the case for Chelsea this time around, however, as the features of the latest design have missed the mark.

‘The worst ever’… Chelsea fans react to the new home kit for the 2024/25 season

“An orange accent colour represents a different kind of fire coming through our ranks,” read Chelsea’s official Twitter/X account.

“The melting pot pattern, resembling liquid gold and silver, is a fusion of our rich legacy with the ever-hot youth culture within our city. A vibrant blue, the hottest part of the flame, acts as the centrepiece of the kit.”

It is fair to say that Blues supporters are not buying these references and think the club have overcomplicated what should be a simple task.

The kit is like nothing Chelsea have worn before, and many fans will be hoping not to see something similar again.

Chelsea fans react to the 2024/25 home kit

Several Chelsea supporters have taken to Twitter/X to voice their displeasure with the new home kit:

A fan posted: ‘Cool concept, hideous execution. The worst kit I have ever seen.’

One added: ‘Over the last 7 years, Nike and Chelsea have produced some of the absolute worst football kits I have ever laid my eyes on.’

Another wrote: ‘Can we all agree that this is the worst jersey in football history?’

One supporter said: ‘Can we please stop with this weird metallic badge nonsense? We will be there for the away kit.’

Another added: ‘Yet another horrible Nike kit for Chelsea. Can we have Adidas back please?’

Chelsea are likely to take to the pitch in the new design for the first time in their pre-season friendly against Wrexham on July 25 in California.
