Chelsea are taking their time to make sure any transfer targets are absolutely right before moving forward with them this summer.
It was believed that they were very close to agreeing a deal to sign Michael Olise, however decided at the last minute that the financial aspect of the deal was not what they were looking for.
Ever since, no real name has come to the forefront as the absolute number one target for the club, as they scout their options carefully.
One position it has been claimed they are looking to strengthen is defence, with a left-footed option for this position being the priority.
One name who suits this is Jorrel Hato, who has broken into both the Ajax and Netherlands side despite being just 18 years of age.

Chelsea really like Jorrel Hato
He has already been described as ‘indispensable’, and is liked by a lot of clubs around Europe.
One of those seems to be Chelsea, with journalist Ben Jacobs sharing that they are keen admirers of the youngster already.
He told ‘London is Blue’: “They really like Jorrel Hato as well, who is expected to stay at Ajax. He was a big, big Arsenal target and I think Chelsea realised that there’s a very low chance of succeeding there because of the player’s preference, and that’s why they not advanced, where as Arsenal seriously explored that deal.”
Another name the Blues have been linked to in a similar position is Riccardo Calafiori, who took his chance at Euro 2024 to impress a number of sides.
Chelsea want Riccardo Calafiori
However, the feeling at this point is that Arsenal are the most likely to bring him in at this stage.
One player who may feel like these rumours should not be as strong as they are is Marc Cucurella, who is having his own brilliant campaign at Euro 2024.
He has followed up on a strong end to the domestic season, and will no doubt be thinking that he should be starting the season against Manchester City.
