Chelsea are preparing to go into next season without someone who was a key figure at the club in recent years.
Thiago Silva has left the club after the expiration of his contract, with him enjoying a really strong four year spell at Stamford Bridge.
Replacing him will prove extremely difficult for a number of reasons, however they have started doing this with the free signing of Tosin Adarabioyo.
The leadership element is an area a number of players who were already at the club will need to step up in. There is reportedly belief that Levi Colwill is being earmarked already as a potential future captain at the club.
It seems as if supporters were also admirers of Silva during his time here. It was announced by the club that he was one of the top selling players for shirts to supporters last season.

The Brazilian has now reacted to this news by sending a message of admiration to Chelsea supporters.
He simply said on his Instagram story: “I love you”
His popularity at Stamford Bridge looks as if it is following him over to his new club in Brazil. His announcement and unveiling at Fluminense broke a record in Brazilian football for the most attended event of it’s kind.

New manager Enzo Maresca would also probably ideally loved to have been going into his first season as a Premier League manager with the very experienced figure at his disposal, even for what he can bring off the pitch.
However, he will be hoping a player who was not seen at all last season can have a comeback campaign and prove to everyone why he was worth the transfer fee paid for him.
A serious injury to Wesley Fofana saw him not play a minute last season, although there is hope that he will turn into a starter this season alongside the likes of Colwill.
