Thiago Silva has now sent a message to his Chelsea teammates after they were defeated 1-0 by Liverpool in the EFL Cup final yesterday.
He took to Instagram to state that he was still proud of the players, after they were forced to play their biggest game of the season without their most experienced member.
Silva was deemed not fit enough to make the squad, with Mauricio Pochettino looking to start Levi Colwill alongside Axel Disasi.
As players tired though into extra-time, supporters couldn’t help but think about being able to bring the veteran on instead of the likes of Trevoh Chalobah and Alfie Gilchrist, who were the available options.
The inexperience showed as the game got to the final stages, with them seeming to look to hold on for penalties as the game approached its final moments.
It wasn’t to be yesterday, and the Blues are going to take a lot of picking up to recover and try and salvage anything out of this season.

He said: “Proud of you, lads. We keep going together!”
It remains to be seen when the Brazil international will return to full fitness, however the fact he has been back in partial team training suggests that it may not be long before he is back on the pitch.
It is looking as if this will be the final season of Silva at Stamford Bridge, after what will have been four extremely successful campaigns in what looked as if was going to be the twilight of his career.
The Blues will now likely be looking in the transfer market to try and find a replacement for him, with Chalobah surely going to be on the move too.
