Brighton are growing increasingly hopeful of keeping Moises Caicedo out of the clutches of Chelsea.
The Blues have had an improved bid of £80million rejected by the Seagulls and appear reluctant to meet Brighton owner Tony Bloom’s £100m valuation.

Seagulls boss Roberto De Zerbi has also been working hard behind the scenes to convince Caicedo to stay and play a part in Brighton’s first ever European campaign.
The south coast side qualified for the Europa League by finishing sixth in the Premier League last season.
If they cannot agree a deal for Caicedo, talkSPORT understands Chelsea could try and hijack Liverpool’s move for Romeo Lavia.
OLD TRAFFORD SHUFFLE
Manchester United have stepped up their efforts to sell Fred to help fund a move for Moroccan World Cup star Sofyan Amrabat.
United are actively encouraging talks with Turkish side Galatasary for Fred, 30, who is one of the players manager Erik Ten Hag is willing to sacrifice this summer.
Fulham also retain an interest in the Brazilian international, whom United value at £20m, but a move to Turkey is looking more likely.
Fiorentina ace Amrabat was one of the stars of Morocco’s run to the World Cup semi-finals at the end of last year.
talkSPORT has been told the 26-year-old is very keen on a move to Old Trafford.

EVERTON SUFFER BLOW
Everton target Willy Gnonto could be about to hand Leeds’ hopes of returning to the Premier League an unexpected boost.
As this column has previously reported, Gnonto is high on Everton boss Sean Dyche’s list of summer targets.
However, talkSPORT understands Gnonto, 19, and his advisers are not completely sold on the idea of a move to Goodison Park, and that the Italian could consider staying at Elland Road depending on what other offers he receives.
While dialogue remains open, Everton have already started drawing up a list of potential alternatives to Italian international Gnonto.
These are believed to include Shakhtar Donetsk star Tete, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester.

Julen Lopetegui’s bombshell interview criticising Wolves’ summer transfer policy may have raised a few eyebrows, but his job is NOT under any threat as a result of it.
Outspoken Spaniard Lopetegui bemoaned Wolves for not replacing a number of high-profile departures and claimed he has little or no control over recruitment.
