One Chelsea youngster has taken training by storm this week by scoring a superb goal in a small-sided match.

18-year-old Deivid Washington wowed his teammates and coaches as he scored a stunning bicycle kick direct from a pass from the goalkeeper, as per a video on the club’s official Instagram page.

Washington has done most of his work since signing for the Blues for the youth side, with him being one of the young stars who did not go out on loan at any stage this season.

Pochettino ignoring Washington

After being included on the bench a number of times for the first team, and even making his Premier League debut, his presence has disappeared amongst the senior players.

This is despite Mauricio Pochettino coming out in January and stating that he has faith in the youngsters ability to fill the void in the squad left by Armando Broja when he was loaned out to Fulham.

Since then though, he hasn’t played a minute, and has only sporadically been seen on the bench for the Blues.

Washington scores stunner in training

This may change after the international break, especially if he continues to wow in training like he did this week.

A video posted by the club sees him take aim with a bicycle kick from the left-hand-side, crashing an effort in off the crossbar.

With plenty of first team players off representing their countries for the next week or so, there is a real opportunity for a number of those who have been on the fringes to impress those still at Cobham.

Every game from now is going to be crucial, with it taking a miracle from this point to qualify for European competition for next season.

Their best route may well be through the FA Cup, however it is likely they will need to beat both Manchester sides at Wembley, a ground they are notoriously not keen on playing at.
