Jamie O’Hara expressed his admiration for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher as a player following his match-winning goal yesterday against Leeds United in the FA Cup.
Conor Gallagher, 24, came off the bench and scored a 90th minute winning goal to book Chelsea’s spot in the FA Cup quarter-finals, where they’ll host Leicester City next month.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side left it very late to secure the 3-2 win against Leeds, but they’ll be delighted with a positive result just days after losing in the League Cup final to Liverpool.
Gallagher, who received criticism at the weekend for missing big chances in the cup final, showed real character with a well-taken winning goal in the last moments against Leeds.
TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara waxed lyrical about the 24-year-old Blues midfielder after last night’s contribution.
“I have to say Conor Gallagher off the back of the Carabao Cup and having some really good chances to win the game, what I love about him, and even tonight couple of times he’s had chances or give the ball away, he never hides,” O’Hara told talkSPORT.
“He never shrugs away from a challenge. He keeps going. He’s got character. I love that in a player.

“You know what he ain’t Frank Lampard or a Jude Bellingham, but I tell you what he’s going to make a hell of a living out of the game with his heart.
“If they sell Conor Gallagher in the summer, I’d stop supporting Chelsea if I was a Chelsea fan.”
Conor Gallagher has huge heart
Last night epitomised why Gallagher is a major fan favourite at Chelsea during this challenging season.
Hopefully, there’s soon a breakthrough regarding his future that leads to him staying for the long term.
The Athletic claimed a few weeks ago that £50m-rated Gallagher looks likely to leave Chelsea this summer unless there’s a big turnaround.
The supporters really need some good news about him!
