When are the Manchester derbies in the 2023/24 season? Manchester United will have added motivation when they face rivals Man City in the Premier League next season.
The two neighbours faced each other three times across all competitions last term.
City thrashed Erik ten Hag’s men 6-3 at the Etihad in October, but United restored some pride with a 2-1 victory three months later.
But crucially it was City who won by that latter scoreline when the two sides met in the FA Cup at Wembley last month.
And that led to the Citizens going on to win the Champions League and match United’s famous 1999 treble triumph.
When are the Manchester derbies in the 2023/24 season?
United will welcome their neighbours to Old Trafford on Saturday, October 28.
The Premier League giants will then be kept apart for five months before they meet again at the Etihad.
The second meeting between the two clubs takes place on Saturday, March 2, 2024.
Both kick-offs have been tentatively pencilled in for 3pm at the moment but are subject to radio and TV picks.
Marcus Rashford admitted it hurt that United were unable to prevent City from winning the FA Cup en route to the treble.
“To be honest, it’s not nice [to see City’s success] but at the same time it’s football,” Red Devils academy graduate Rashford said.
“The best team that’s consistently playing the best football is going to win the most trophies and they’ve managed to win three this year.
“Well done to them and we just move on now and it’s up to them to keep it up, and it’s up to the rest of us to try and catch them up.”
Asked if City matching United’s greatest achievement will provide extra motivation, Rashford added: “Yeah, 100 per cent.”
