A picture has emerged showcasing who fell just short of being named Chelsea’s Player of the Seasom at this week’s awards nights.

Cole Palmer picked up the double as far as awards go for players, winning both Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year.

He joined elite company by doing so, matching the achievement of the likes of Eden Hazard before him who have had imperious enough campaign’s to pick up both awards.

Sitting on 21 Premier League goals this season, fans may have wondered if anyone else was even up for consideration amongst the decision makers at the club.

Palmer said that he voted for Malo Gusto on the player’s voting side of things, with the youngster having a superb first campaign for the club.

However, he was not on the list of two runners up for the award. A video on the Twitter page of CFC Cath shows that Conor Gallagher and Thiago Silva made up the top three alongside Palmer.

Silva is entering his final few games at the club, however has been available for close to the entire season again while avoiding injury.

There are already plans in the works to honour his career at Stamford Bridge on the final game of the season, however these will fall flat if they don’t coincide with at least qualifying for Europe for next season.

Gallagher could still be sold

One player who is going to be crucial in their effort to do is Gallagher, who has featured in near enough every game so far under Mauricio Pochettino.

There are still reports that he could be sold at the end of the season, with reports suggesting that he is powerless to the owners’ demands to get rid of him for profit.

This would be a major kick in the face for Pochettino, who will no doubt feel he has found his best midfield combination in him and Moises Caicedo.
