Kylee Enwright

Kylee Enwright, an Australian businesswoman, had a frightening accident and has been in a hospital in Thailand for 11 days.

Despite having travel insurance, one insurance company refuses to cover her medical expenses. While on vacation in Thailand, she unfortunately decided to relax by drinking several Long Island Ice Teas. As a result, she is currently in a “vegetative state” in the hospital.

The Enwright family, from Singleton, New South Wales, was shocked to discover that their travel insurance was considered invalid because their insurer claimed that Kylee had consumed too much alcohol before the fall. This has left them with medical bills amounting to $250,000.

The Enwright family is now seeking assistance from other Australians in their situation.

The husband of Ms. Enwright, devastated by the accident that caused his wife a severe brain injury, is desperately asking for help to bring her back to Australia from Thailand. The travel insurance they had won’t cover the expenses, so they need support to make it possible.

Kylee Enwright Accident: What Happened To Her?

On May 28, tragedy struck Khao Lak while Kylee Enwright and her husband were enjoying their second day of vacation.

Mr. Enwright admitted that they had been drinking at the resort’s poolside bar on a rainy day.

A distressing video captured the moment when Kylee mistakenly stepped off a wooden board, thinking it was a set of stairs, and fell 50 cm, landing on her face.

According to the insurer’s investigators who reviewed CCTV footage and the couple’s bar tab, it is believed that Kylee may have had a blood alcohol level of 0.35. The tab showed that they had ordered nine Long Island iced teas to their room number.

During the 15-minute wait for emergency personnel to arrive, a visitor at the hotel provided first aid to Kylee.

She was bleeding from her ears and head, and her husband, Mr. Enwright, stated that her head hit the ground with force.

Kylee was initially taken to a local hospital and later transferred by air to a larger facility in Phuket. Mr. Enwright was informed that he would be responsible for paying the full cost of the necessary brain surgery.

She had indeed suffered a serious brain injury.

Mrs. Enwright was rendered comatose until Thursday after having the left side of her skull removed to make room for her brain to expand.

She has only ever briefly opened her eyes, according to Mr. Enwright.

Since then, Kylee’s medical expenses have soared above $50,000, with $5,000 more every day.

Even worse, the couple’s trip insurance has stated that it will not pay for expenses because of an alcohol restriction provision that the Enwrights were unaware of.

Kylee Enwright Accident: She’s Fighting For Life

Staff members demanded more than $20,000 once Kylee was transferred to a better hospital, but the surgery went through after Mr. Enwright could cobble together almost $13,000.

The couple’s three adult children have all gone to Thailand to be with their mother while they search for a means to bring her back to Australia.

Like most Australians, we purchased travel insurance at the level of protection we believed would be sufficient.

We believed we had followed all the correct steps,’ Mr. Enwright added.

She has left arm and left leg movement. You can squeeze her. They are a little worried that she isn’t more alert by this point because she hasn’t moved her right side very much,’ he said.

For her to receive the finest care possible through the Australian healthcare system, Enwright added, “We need to get her back to Australia.”
