The Bachelor’s Brittany Hockley reveals what she really thinks of Abbie Chatfield following their explosive ‘slut-shaming’ feud
Brittany Hockley has broken her silence on her ‘slut-shaming’ row with her fellow Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield.
The podcast host, 35, locked horns with her Abbie in December last year, after she accused Brittany of slut-shaming her on live radio.
Brittany told this week’s Stellar magazine, she won’t be wasting her ‘time and energy commenting on things happening around her’.
‘One thing I’ve realised over the past few months is protecting my peace is far more important than weighing in on anything else that might be happening around me,’ she said.
‘I know who I am, and the people in my life who I love and who matter know who I am, too. And I am learning to just not engage with any of it.’

‘Time and energy are precious commodities and I don’t [want to] waste them.’
Brittany said she’d rather spend her time and energy on her relationships and her work.
Abbie lashed out after learning Brittany had joked about her dating life while interviewing American rapper Yung Gravy on KIIS FM back in November.
While Brittany’s then co-host Kyle Sandilands was the one leading the conversation, Abbie said Britt was complicit in his ‘misogyny’ by refusing to speak up.

Brittany posted a statement on Instagram a day later in which she apologised for her involvement in the ‘misogynistic’ jokes, and insisted she had always been an advocate for female empowerment.
‘I want to apologise for the undercurrent misogynistic tones the interview had,’ she began.
‘The nature of live radio is unpredictable and often unplanned, which was the case with the direction the conversation took. Live on radio I found myself in a position where Abbie and I were pitted against each other.’

Brittany, who co-hosts the podcast Life Uncut, assured her fans she had never meant to ‘make anyone feel shameful’ about enjoying sex.
Abbie, who is a judge on Channel 10’s The Masked Singer, said the apology was insufficient and only demonstrated Brittany’s ‘internalised misogyny.’
She also scolded Britt for not standing up to her co-host Kyle when he said Yung Gravy would need to ‘line up’ if he wanted to date her.
