Comedian Celeste Barber’s new comedy special to hit Netflix in the wake of success of her scripted series Wellmania

Celeste Barber‘s comedy special ‘Fine, Thanks’ hits screens on Monday.

The star, who achieved huge success with her Netflix series Wellmania, will see the stand-up special released on the same streaming platform.

The special was filmed at the Sydney Opera House during her live tour.

In it, the comic talks about celebrity sex toys, why hot girls can’t dance and her misadventure after being invited to Coachella.

It comes after Celeste said she won’t hold back when it comes to slamming the social pressure many women feel about their bodies.

‘As women, we get taught so often to abuse our body and hate our body,’ she said in an interview with the ABC.

Speaking about her new Netflix show Wellmania, Celeste said she liked ‘using’ her body to get laughs.

‘There’s a fair bit of training that goes into it, but I just refuse to hate how I look,’ she said.

‘And I go into a lot of stuff thinking that, and I think that’s how it comes across — and how I got to where I am.’

In her comedy-drama, Wellmania, which dropped on Netflix on March 29, Celeste plays Liv, a woman who takes to a ‘wellness journey’ after a shock health diagnosis.

She admitted that her character is ‘brave’, while she says, her nature is bit more cautious.

‘[Liv has this] ability to live wholeheartedly in any given moment, in any given situation. She bathes in it, she marinates in it, and she lives it to its nth degree … No opportunity passes her by, ‘ she said.

Inspired by Brigid Delaney’s novel Wellmania: Misadventures in the Search for Wellness, Celeste also served as executive producer on the eight-part series.

Celeste also revealed she did her own stunts in the new comedy.
