Channel Nine addresses Scott Cam’s future on The Block following claims he’s ‘set to quit’ the series
Channel Nine has addressed claims Scott Cam is preparing to leave The Block at the end of this year’s 19th season.
An insider told Yahoo! Lifestyle on the weekend the TV veteran and beloved host was planning on departing the highly successful renovation juggernaut after 13 years at the helm.
A Nine spokesperson denied the claims on Monday evening, saying, ‘The report is not true’.
The statement comes after the builder-turned-reality TV host, 60, is apparently nearing the end of his contract at Nine and is planning to pack up his toolkit for good later this year.
‘Scotty Cam’s contract is up and it is believed he isn’t signing for any more after this one,’ an insider told Yahoo! Lifestyle.

The source also claimed Cam will likely be replaced by a former contestant of The Block when he finally steps away.
‘Audiences don’t like change especially when it comes to replacing the host – so relying on familiar-faced contestants to make up for the absence makes sense.’
Channel Nine has been contacted for comment about their star’s decision to step away from the show.
The shock claims come after this year’s season of The Block wrapped filming at Charming Street in Melbourne’s Hampton East.
After a massive year of building topped by a controversial auction last season, the next line-up of contestants can expect an even tougher go at the competition.
With $100,000 prize money up for grabs, contestants will be put to the test as they’re tasked with building a separate granny flat in addition to family homes.
In 2022, winners Omar and Oz walked away with $1,686,666.66, the biggest-ever profit on the show.
Cam is meanwhile preparing to attend the TV Week Logie Awards on Sunday after being nominated for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.
He is competing for the gong against Hamish Blake, Julia Morris, Shaun Micallef, Sonia Kruger and Tony Armstrong.
The Block has also been nominated for Most Popular Reality TV program and Most Outstanding Reality Program.
Cam’s work on The Block has already seen him earn several accolades, including the Silver Logie for Most Popular Presenter and the coveted Gold Logie for Most Popular Australian TV Personality in 2014.
