Channel Nine presenter Airlie Walsh has welcomed her first child with partner Tom Ferrier.
The TV journalist announced on Wednesday that she gave birth to a baby boy called Peter William Ferrier.
Posting to Instagram, Airlie shared a gorgeous snap of herself holding her newborn son in hospital.
The black and white photo shows the new mother looking very emotional as she holds her child for the first time, four days after giving birth to him.
She captioned the image: ‘I’ll never take this feeling for granted. Four days after he rushed into the world, my first cuddle with Peter William Ferrier.’

Friends and fans of the presenter flocked to the comments to congratulate her and her partner on their new arrival.
Airlie’s Channel Nine colleague Lizzie Pearl commented: ‘Little Petey… we love you already ❤️ … well done mumma Airs… big love to you and @tomferrier’.
One friend of the couple wrote: ‘P-Boy! We all love you so much already! You’re a lucky little fella… the most beautiful mum and an adoring dad. What a wonderful life you have to look forward to.’

Sharing a snap of her growing baby bump as she worked in the Channel Nine newsroom she wrote: ‘It’s not easy dressing a big bump. #28weeks #thirdtrimester.’
