Grieving Cher admitted on Tuesday that she is ‘struggling to sleep’ following the heartbreaking death of her mother Georgia Holt.
The 76-year-old icon lost her beloved mother on Saturday and has since revealed on Twitter that the 96-year-old Holt’s final moments were filled with ‘so much pain.’
The Strong Enough songstress originally shared the news with three heartbreaking words on Saturday, tweeting: ‘Mom is gone.’

‘Can’t sleep very well,’ tweeted the Strong Enough songstress on Tuesday.
Cher went on to tell fans that they should look up a video of her and Holt singing I’m Just Your Yesterday.
‘You’ll see where I stole my voice,’ wrote the megastar, moving many with her emotional post.
The Believe hitmaker shared that her mother had been ‘sick and rallying’ before her health rapidly deteriorated over the weekend.
Back in early September, Cher revealed in another Twitter post that Georgia had been hospitalized with pneumonia and had been suffering from recurring health issues.

Cher’s tweets were posted between the hours of 3am and 4am, suggesting that her grief kept her up until dawn.
But it appeared that the superstar eventually found some relief after tweeting about her mother’s tragic passing.
In a final tweet, she wrote: ‘Am Sleepy Head Now.’

Georgia once harbored her own ambitions of being a performer, singing in saloons as a child and winning a spate of beauty contests as a teenager.
At the age of 86, Holt released her debut country album Honky Tonk Woman, which had been recorded more than three decades earlier in 1980.
Georgia was a lifelong support system for Cher, seeing her through stratospheric fame and turbulent romances.
And Georgia herself also had a tumultuous love life, racking up six failed marriages by the age of 50.
She allegedly took an unconventional approach to motherhood, according to Cher, who revealed: ‘She never gave me and my sister advice because, truthfully, she knew we’d never take it.’
