At one point, it looked like Trevoh Chalobah had played his last game for Chelsea.
Trevoh Chalobah picked up an injury just before the start of the season and was constantly linked with a move away from Chelsea in the last summer transfer window and the January one.
However, the central defender has recovered and has quickly become an option for Mauricio Pochettino.
With centre-back being a bit of a problem position for the Blues right now, Chalobah could have an opportunity to show everyone that he deserves to play for the club and remain at Stamford Bridge.

Trevoh Chalobah’s start against Brentford
As mentioned above, Chelsea have issues in central defence. Thiago Silva and Benoit Badiashile, for example, have both been out injured, with the former just returning.
As a result, Chalobah was able to start in his side’s 2-2 draw with Brentford yesterday, with Pochettino wanting to use a back three.
With Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher all tired, Pochettino explained that he wanted to put another centre-half on the pitch to compensate for that.
Chalobah, Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill were hardly solid on the day. But Chalobah got his chance, showing that his manager has not excluded him from his plans. If the 24-year-old gets similar opportunities between now and the end of the season, he can show Chelsea that he deserves a place in the squad next term.

Trevoh Chalobah can use Conor Gallagher as an example
Like Chalobah, Gallagher was also heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea last summer.
However, the midfielder remained in west London and slowly became one of Pochettino’s most important players.
This season, Gallagher has made 36 appearances in all competitions and scored four goals. The Englishman has also got to captain Chelsea on more than one occasion.
Gallagher may still end up leaving the Blues in the near future because of his contract situation, but he can serve as a good example to Chalobah, showing the former England U21 international that you can have a role under Pochettino regardless of whether you were once a fringe player or have a deal that is running down.
