Guess who! Eighties teen heart-throb looks unrecognisable in rare TV interview – as he reveals his exciting new career move

He became a child star in the 1980s with roles in popular films and television shows.

Perhaps best known for starring in U.S. sitcoms Blossom and Melissa & Joey, the now-46-year-old later achieved success as a musician.

His acting career kicked off with a Cracker Jack commercial before he appeared as a musical guest on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

As a teenager, his popularity grew when he was cast on the comedy series Brotherly Love with his real-life brothers Matthew and Andrew.

The former heart-throb made a rare TV appearance with his siblings on Australia’s The Morning Show on Friday to promote their latest project.

So did you guess who it was? That’s right, it’s Joey Lawrence!

The Lawrence brothers joined hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies to discuss their new podcast, fittingly titled Brotherly Love, which dropped this week.

Viewers were surprised to see how much he had changed, as he was interviewed via Zoom in a long-sleeve denim shirt and backwards-facing cap.

Their podcast came about after they decided to work with each other again two years ago, having produced a string of films together.

‘The pandemic really forced us to do it,’ Matthew said.

Joey, Matthew and Andrew were also motivated to give their fans information about their lives and careers they hadn’t heard before.

‘We’ve never shown people how we relate to one another,’ Joey said.

He said nothing would be off limits on the podcast, as the brothers delve into all aspects of their lives.

‘We’ve had ups and downs, but no one has ever seen that,’ added Joey.

The talented trio said they plan to get in front of the camera once again and create new music together in the near future.
