Jennifer Coolidge made a hilarious flub while presenting at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday.
The White Lotus star, 61, was getting ready to present the award in the best supporting actor in a TV musical/comedy or drama category, when she read out: ‘So, the Oscar goes to’ before quickly realizing her mistake.
‘Oh, no, no, wait, Golden Globes,’ she corrected herself, before giving the award to Abbott Elementary star Tyler James Williams.

The audience roared with laughter at the viral moment.
Before the hilarious error, Coolidge explained how she was nervous to accept the role of a presenter at the awards show.
She said she received a call from a person affiliated with the show: ‘I said, oh, my god, that is such an honor, thank you, thank you so much. Yes, I would love to, and I hung up on her.’

She continued with her story, saying she got an anxiety attack when thinking about presenting.
‘And then I thought about it for a little bit, and I just had a complete anxiety attack. And I got very, very nervous and I said “oh, my god, I’m not doing this so I called Cara right back.”‘
‘And I said, Cara, I’m so touched that you would want me to do something, but, listen, I’m going to tell you something, there is no way that I’m going to make it from behind the curtain all the way to the podium without breaking my skull, you know, because of all these overwaxed floors and stuff.’

The person on the other end reportedly said back: ‘Jennifer, then why don’t you just wear a pair of crocs.’
To that Jenifer quipped: ‘Well, are you kidding me with my Dolce & Gabbana dress, all those crazy Italians would lose their minds.’
She continued to list the reasons for why she shouldn’t present, adding that she might lose her place on the teleprompter and not know what to say.

She added that her ‘biggest nightmare’ is the pronunciation of people’s names.
‘I can’t do it. Once I say someone’s name the wrong way, I’m sc****d. Like you hear it that one way, and you can’t undo it.’
Coolidge then explained how she had trouble pronouncing Bill Nye’s name at a dinner party one night, before mispronouncing Kaley Cuoco’s name.
