Home and Away star Sophie Dillman reveals what the Logies are really like and says Karl Stefanovic and Kelly Rowland once stepped on her dress at the event: ‘I did not remain calm’

Former Home and Away star Sophie Dillman has revealed what the Logie Awards are really like, ahead of this year’s event. 

The actress, 30, who left the soap alongside co-star and boyfriend Patrick O’Connor to go travelling together, penned a piece for Yahoo! Lifestyle.  

The blonde said that the event is filled with glitz and glamour, however it can be a little stressful preparing for TV’s night of nights. 

Sophie explained in her piece that she had her gown ‘stepped on’ a few times by stars including Nine’s Karl Stefanovic, Kelly Rowland and Hamish Blake. 

This year’s awards will take place in Sydney on July 30 for the first time in 37 years.

‘If I could describe the event in three words it would be sparkly, overwhelming, FUN!’ she wrote. 

‘It’s not often that you dress in ball gowns, wear the most incredible makeup, THE MOST expensive jewels and sit at tables where your gown is stepped on by Karl Stefanovic, Hamish Blake, Roger Corser, Kelly Rowland (I did not remain calm).’

She said that despite the day of the event being rather hectic, admitting it takes a full day to get ready with her team, she loves the event as she feels confident when she hits the red carpet.

‘But my goodness, I have NEVER loved myself more than those nights. I have never looked and felt more beautiful. My teams of creatives in the years past are wizards and I will never forget those moments,’ she said. 

Abbie Chatfield, Alan Fletcher, Celeste Barber, Colin Fassnidge, Emma Hamilton, Grant Denyer, Joel Creasey, Kat Stewart, Kyle Sandilands, Kylie Gillies, Larry Emdur and Lincoln Younes will all take to the stage to present at this year’s event.

As will Home and Away’s Lynne McGranger, Mark Coles Smith, Marta Dusseldorp, Matt Shirvington, Mick Molloy, Natalie Barr, Osher Günsberg, Poh Ling Yeow, Rodger Corser, Samantha Armytage, Sophie Monk, Stephen Peacocke and Tony Armstrong.

Sophie and boyfriend Patrick both left the hit TV show earlier this year to travel Europe together.

And they plan to stay on the other side of the world, with Sophie hoping to start a theatre career in the UK.
