And Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo, 34, shared a sweet tribute to his mum Jill on Mother’s Day on Sunday.

The actor posted two pictures of his beloved mother on Instagram, and said she ‘meant the world to him’.

‘Happy Mothers Day. sometimes I take for granted the things you do, but just know how much I love and appreciate you, you mean the world to me xx,’ he wrote. 

The sweet star gifted his mum a huge bunch of flowers as he spent the special day with her.

Last month, Johnny shared an update on his health with his fans, posting a series of photos captioned ‘Few snaps from life lately.’

In one, the actor was seen in hospital undergoing another round of chemotherapy.

He also enjoyed several outings with his girlfriend Tahnee Sims and his mother in his downtime, including dinner and heading to a Rod Stewart concert. 

Several friends and fans commented on his post, commending his strength and bravery.

In December, the actor and singer marked another year of undergoing chemotherapy and revealed he was looking forward to having a break and spending time with family over Christmas. 

‘Another year of chemotherapy done, It wasn’t easy but I made it through,’ he wrote at the time.

‘Can’t wait to have a few weeks break over Christmas & spend some well earned time with my family. #f**kcancer.’

‘You can only imagine how difficult it’s been for her,’ he said on The Project.

‘What plays in my head a lot is, I hate to say this, how hard it may be for her if something does happen to me.

‘So, it’s something that I don’t want to think about. It just gets me a little bit emotional about it because I know at some point something will happen, whether it’s, you know, a month from now or 10 years from now or 20 years.’

Johnny told then-host Carrie Bickmore he had already outlived his life expectancy.

‘At some point it will get me but I’m still fighting. Still kicking on. Looking up my diagnosis and my tumour, the average life expectancy was three years,’ he said.

The former X Factor star went on to praise his partner Tahnee and referred to her as his ‘guardian angel’.

‘She is here with me every step of the way,’ he said. ‘I’m so very grateful to have her by my side, I don’t know what I would do without her.’
