‘You have to let people know it’s not okay to touch your body’: Iskra Lawrence reveals she spoke to her son, 2, about consent after two boys spanked him on the bottom

Iskra Lawrence revealed on Tuesday that she spoke to her son about consent after two boys spanked him on the bottom.

In a Get Ready With Me video, the model, 32, whose son will be three in April, explained: ‘We tend to go to Chick-Fil-A’s on Monday after my little one has gymnastics.

‘So I let him go off and play and I’m sat watching close enough to see everything and he’s having a really fun time.’

But she added that things soon took a turn as there were three older boys in there who began by playing tag with her son – whose name she has never revealed – which turned into hitting.

When she realised what was happening, she ran in to stop them at the exact moment she saw two of the boys spanking his bottom.

The model was unsure if she had done the right thing as she told her son: ‘you have to let people know it’s not okay to touch your body’ and then removed him.

Asking her followers for advice, she revealed she had been left shocked by the situation as she finished getting ready.

The model and her partner, tour manager and songwriter Philip Payne, became parents for the first time when they welcomed their son into the world in April 2020.

She previously opened up about how she felt ‘lost’ and unsure of herself after becoming a mother two years ago, and even questioned her career choices.

In an essay for Today last year, she wrote: ‘I started to think I should just try getting back to ‘me’ – and that ‘me’ was a body-confident lingerie model.

‘I started looking at my body and wondering if I felt confident enough.

‘Then another thought dawned on me: “Can I even do this? I’m a mother now. What would people think? Would my child resent me posting lingerie pics in 10 years?”

‘What about my family-friendly neighbourhood – will I embarrass myself if they all see me in my undies?’

‘I thought, ‘You’re a mother now. You’ll look desperate for attention and validation – it’s just not a good look’.

‘I wanted to rediscover the part of me that wouldn’t give a damn about parading around in my panties, or anyone’s opinions of me.’

It comes after Iskra opened up about her early days as a model, saying that she misses ‘the old me.’

The star shared a number of black-and-white snaps of her in a bikini top and black pants, which were taken by Matthew Comer.

Sometimes I miss the old me. Sometimes I miss how comfortable in my sexuality I was,’ Iskra began.

‘How unashamed I was of nudity and posing provocatively but in an unforced natural way,’ the supermodel added.

‘I shut myself off from a lot of things when I grew a platform, started to feel the pressure of people holding me to a ‘role model’ standard.’

Iskra also reflected on a ‘gig’ she took for rapper Cardi B, revealing she told Philip, ‘I don’t even feel comfortable twerkin in public letting ‘loose’.

She added she didn’t want to ‘let people down’ and ‘be a bad role model’ or a ‘bad influence’ to others.

Iskra said: ‘I’d love to know if anyone feels this way that the pressure of an online personality made them shrink or deny parts of themselves?’ she said frankly.

‘Regardless of what industry you’re in there’s certain standards I think we all feel like we have to adhere to to be socially acceptable online – how do you feel about that?’
