Love Island’s Catherine Abaje and Elom Ahlijah-Wilson ‘secretly SPLIT’ days after leaving the villa

Love Island stars Catherine Abaje and Elom Ahlijah-Wilson have reportedly split.

The pair are said to have gone their separate ways just days after leaving the villa, with insiders claiming it was ‘over before it even really started.’

The real estate agent and the masseuse, both 22, were suddenly evicted two weeks ago in an extremely abrupt and unexpected dumping.

A source told The Sun: ‘The pair struggled to make it work in the real world and barely saw each other since the show ended.

‘They kept up a bit of a pretence, while they did the podcast circuit, but everyone knew it was over before it even really started.

‘Catherine’s sister made no secret about her feelings towards Elom so it’s no surprise she cooled things off straight away.’

MailOnline has contacted Catherine and Elom’s representatives for comment.

Catherine and Elom were voted the least compatible couple by viewers, and the islanders were suddenly given the news while enjoying drinks – rather than the normal practice of gathering them around the firepit.

They were left shocked when they received an unexpected text telling them fans had been voting for the least compatible couples, with people sharing their dismay.

But before they even had a chance to move, Whitney Abebayo then received a second text immediately telling them the result.

Whitney covered her mouth in shock as she told her fellow islanders that not only had Catherine and Elom been voted least compatible – but they would immediately be dumped.

The islanders were all left completely baffled by the sudden dumping, while Catherine and Elom shared their upset that they would be packing their bags.

Speaking of their exit, Elom admitted he was ‘shocked’ by being voted least compatible couple, as he claimed they have a strong connection – despite him saying he was ‘too comfortable’ hours earlier.

He said: ‘I was really shocked because Catherine and I have such a strong connection, everyone in the Villa could see that which is why I think everyone was so surprised with the result.’

While Catherine added: ‘It wasn’t something I saw coming at all. When I heard our names I was shocked because I know what me and Elom have is genuine and we are so compatible.’

Speaking of their future, she went on: ‘Elom and I have something special so I’m excited to see where it goes.’

Elom agreed as he added: ‘Now we’ve left the Villa together, I think our connection is only going to flourish and get stronger. Catherine is exactly what I’ve been looking for and I feel like we’ve been getting closer every single day.’
