Pregnant Jana Kramer got candid when discussing her heartbreaking past miscarriages, which she said gave her reservations about trying for another child.
The mother-of-two, 39 — who’s currently expecting her first child with new fiancé Allan Russell, 42 — shared her experience on a new episode of her Whine Down podcast.
The singer recalled having a conversation with Russell where she told him it might not be possible for her to get pregnant again, and said she felt ‘broken’ and questioned her womanhood.
‘I mean, I know I’m a woman, but when you miscarry that many times, you’re like, “Am I? Because I can’t even carry a baby,”‘ she explained.
Kramer told Russell, who has a 16-year-old son from a previous relationship, ‘If you really want one, I might not be your girl because I don’t know if I can physically carry a baby again.’

Kramer is already mom to daughter Jolie, seven, and son Jace, four, with ex-husband Mike Caussin.
Russell then told her, ‘I’ve got my son and my stepdaughter, but it would be so beautiful to have something together.’
Kramer told him, ‘I would love that, but if it’s something of really wanting it, I don’t want you to be like, “Oh I should have been with someone else” because I, as a woman who has had a bunch of miscarriages, I feel broken.’
Reliving the thoughts she had in regards to her miscarriages she noted, ‘I don’t want to relive that again, feeling that way. That was awful.’
Kramer also admitted that her pregnancy came as a ‘shock.’
‘It was also freaky, because I bled so bad — like gushing blood. And I’m like, “Here we go, I’m miscarrying.” And I’m bawling my eyes out and he’s seeing it — I couldn’t make it to the toilet,’ she recalled.
‘I’m bawling, and I’m like, “I told you I couldn’t do this” and I called my doctor and they’re like, “Baby’s still there, but you have a big hemorrhage.”‘
The doctor then informed her that ‘it’s 50/50’ until the baby got bigger than the hemorrhage.

She then praised Russell for how he handled the situation, saying, ‘He would take Jace to school, he would do drop-offs. Him and Mike would coordinate with soccer, and dropoffs. I was so sick. [He got me] anything I wanted, food-wise.’
The One Tree Hill veteran revealed she and Russell were expecting after six months of dating on Thursday.
She shared the happy news on Instagram and gave a photo of the couple showing off the positive result on her home pregnancy test with People.
‘I didn’t think it would ever happen again, if I’m being honest,’ shared the star, who is coming out with a new tell-all book.
‘I’ve been through a lot, so this has just been a really beautiful thing.’
‘I’m letting it all sink in. It’s everything I’ve wanted and more. Allan was so sweet. He wrote me this little sticky note saying, “You deserve the happy ending.”‘
Just two weeks ago she shared with fans that she had gotten engaged to Russell.
Kramer said Allan asked Jana and her kids to go for a walk to the new house.
They were then sitting on the front porch with the kids looking out at the view when Allan said her name and got down on one knee and Jolie started jumping up and down.
Jana added they both started crying and it was ‘very sentimental and it just felt right.’

The pair made their red carpet debut in March at the 2023 iHeartRadio Awards in Los Angeles.
The beauty went Instagram official with the former professional soccer player back in January with a loved-up social media post.
While on the red carpet, Jana stopped to talk to PEOPLE about her new relationship and her thoughts about tying the knot again someday.
‘I do, yeah. I do, which is crazy, but I still believe in love,’ the beauty expressed.
‘I’m happy. I’m in a great relationship. He’s a wonderful man, and I’ve got amazing, healthy kids. I’m blessed. I feel very blessed,’ she said about her relationship with the soccer coach.
‘I’m in a new chapter, and it feels really nice. For the first time, I’m really embracing it, and I’m trying to sink in that I deserve this new chapter.’
The actress was previously married to Michael Gambino, Johnathan Schaech, and Mike Caussin.
