“I can’t express this any other way,” she wrote. “My son, Rahem Brown, Tamer Dizzle, is dead.”
“His heart simply gave out,” she added, according to the outlet. “I will not be responding to all the posts for a bit, but the hardest words I will ever post or say is, my son, my heart, is dead.”
Rahem Brown was a founding member of The Artifacts, Leak Bros and the hiphop supergroup The Weathermen.

What Happened To Rahem Brown?
According to his mother’s Facebook post, as quoted by NJ, the medical examiner who saw Rahem’s body said he died as a result of a combination of prescription drugs and cannabis.
“The medical examiner,” Rahem’s mother Darlene Brown Harris wrote in the post, “says the six pharmaceutical drugs that Trinitas hospital prescribed to him last Friday, combined with the weed he smoked over this weekend… His heart simply gave out.”

Recreational use of cannabis – for which “weed” is a slang term – has been legal in the state of New Jersey for people age 21 and over since September 2021.
How old was his age?
Born March 20, 1970, Rahem Brown was 52 years old when he died – the same age as fellow east coast rapper Hurricane G, news of whose death came at a similar time.
He kept his persona life private, but in terms of family connections, we know Tame One was the first cousin of fellow rapper Redman.
Like Rahem, Redman (birth name: Reginald Noble) is based in Newark, New Jersey.
Brown grew up there. His mother Darlene raised him in the inner city. As a young man, he gravitated towards graffiti as an art form, writes Pitchfork, and developed a reputation for graffiti-bombing his high school so severely that administrators banned the marker – as a medium – throughout the school for anyone from 9th grade through 12th.

Age just 18, Brown and fellow rappers Dwight Chatman (real name of DJ Kaos) and William E Williams (El Da Sensei) founded The Artifacts.
The group signed to Big Beat and Atlantic, and released two studio albums in 1994 and 1997.
Between A Rock And A Hard Place included their breakout singles Wrong Side Of Da Tracks and C’Mon With Da Git Down; their 1997 album That’s Them included Return To Da Wrongside, The Ultimate and Collaboration Of Mics.
They separated soon after the release of album number two. But 2009 saw them briefly reunite during a performance by El Da Sensei.

After The Artifacts disbanded in the 1990s, Rahem Brown and New York rapper Christian Palko (aka Cage) started to collaborate.
They started Leak Bros, and made their debut on Cage’s Weatherproof EP and Tame One’s When Rappers Attack. Both came out in 2003.
Meanwhile, they were also incubating The Weathermen, a hiphop production group they formed in 1998 in Middletown, New York along with several other rappers.
Past and previous members of the collective include Tame One, Cage Kennylz, Masai Bey, Aesop Rock, Yak Ballz, El-P, Jakki Tha Motamouth, Camu Tao, Copywrite, Vast Aire and Breeze Brewin, Metro and Tage Future.
