There are certainly some supporters who would have been content if Mauricio Pochettino was not in charge of the upcoming FA Cup replay against Aston Villa.

However, it looks as if the Argentine will take charge at Villa Park, although is surely skating on thin ice as far as his Chelsea career is concerned.

Cup games have certainly been where the best moments have been this season for the club who are also in the EFL Cup final at the end of the month.

Here’s The Chelsea Chronicle’s predicted XI for tomorrow’s FA Cup fourth round replay.

GK and Defence

While Robert Sanchez is getting closer to a return to action, it will be Djorjde Petrovic between the sticks again tomorrow night.

A back four will become a back five as Malo Gusto features in a more attacking wing-back role.

Next to him will be Axel Disasi, who has experience playing in a wide defensive position already under his belt.

In the middle, the experienced Thiago Silva will hopefully see some expectatition lifted off him being surrounded by an extra defender.

Next to him, Benoit Badiashile will make his first start since returning from injury.

The system should hopefully help Ben Chilwell’s game improve, with him being able to attack more.

Midfield

A two-man midfield will see plenty of importance on the role of Moises Caicedo, who had a rough outing against Wolves.

Alongside him, he will be hoping that Enzo Fernandez can perform to a far higher standard too.

Attack

Cole Palmer starred despite the 4-2 defeat on Sunday, and will definitely be starting again tomorrow.

Christopher Nkunku was up front last time out, but this time will feature slightly deeper behind the number nine.

This is because Nicolas Jackson will be back in the starting side for the first time since leaving for the African Cup of Nations.
