Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino expressed his delight with Conor Gallagher after last night’s win against Crystal Palace.

Conor Gallagher, 24, scored two second-half goals for Chelsea in Monday’s victory away to Crystal Palace.

The Blues ended up with a 3-1 victory at Selhurst Park in the Premier League, but it took some late goals in stoppage time to earn three points.

Gallagher, who earlier levelled at 1-1, scored again in the 91st minute to win it for the visitors. Enzo Fernandez added a third even deeper into stoppage time.

Mauricio Pochettino delivered some glowing praise for Gallagher after his match-winning contribution.

The box-to-box midfielder has discovered his shooting boots in the last few days with three goals in two matches.

When asked about Gallagher in his post-match press conference, Pochettino responded via Football.London: “He’s a player with great commitment with the team. Always trying to compensate every situation in an offensive and defensive situation and that is priceless to have a player like him.

Mauricio Pochettino hails Conor Gallagher

It must be a great feeling for any player to hear your manager describe you as “priceless”. For Gallagher, it’s been obvious from day one of the season he’s a Pochettino favourite.

The England international brings so much to the Chelsea line-up both on and off the ball, so it’s nice to see him get some reward recently.

Speaking via Instagram last night, Enzo Fernandez praised Chelsea teammate Gallagher for his impact in the Palace win.

If we were to guess the starting line-up that Pochettino will select for this month’s League Cup final versus Liverpool, Gallagher would be one of our first picks.
