Chelsea legend Petr Cech has now named a surprising former Blues manager as someone who ran bad training sessions during their time at the club.

He told the Obi One podcast that when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge of the club, he was not fan of the training sessions he ran.

Cech has obviously got plenty of experience under some of the best managers the game has ever produced during his time at Stamford Bridge.

He had arguably his most successful spell at the club under Jose Mourinho, where he was part of a defence which has set the Premier League record for least goals conceded in a season.

When asked during punditry recently, he named the Portuguese icon as one of his favourite people that he worked under throughout his entire career.

However, he also named Ancelotti at the top of this list, which may have surprised some people based on the short period of time he was in charge of Chelsea.

Despite obviously learning a lot from the multiple-time Champions League winner, Cech has now shared that he did not particularly agree with the training sessions the boss was putting on.

He said: “When a new manager arrived, Carlo Ancelotti, he was like ‘wow, this training is so intense, it’s like a match’. I was like, ‘no, boss it’s the worst’ because I felt everyone looked tired and wasn’t training well. Carlo didn’t understand this because he wasn’t used to that.”

Cech was a member of the board at the club recently, however left his role off the back of the change of ownership at Stamford Bridge.

He recently came out and said however that this was not as a result of any form of disagreement with Todd Boehly or anyone else on the new board at the club.
