A report has now shared what some of the players have noticed about the recent feeling at Stamford Brige during Chelsea games.

According to The Telegraph, a representative close to an unnamed player has noted that the squad are concerned at how quickly the supporters are seeming to turn on some of their own at games right now.

Fans were treated to somewhat of an FA Cup classic over the weekend, with them booking yet another trip to Wembley with a 4-2 victory over Leicester City.

Sterling gets criticism in Chelsea win

The scoreline does not tell the ful story though, with the Blues being pegged back from their 2-0 first half lead to 2-2 before the hour mark.

The feeling inside the stadium was particularly toxic at this stage, and unfortunately a lot of the frustration was aimed at one player in particular.

Raheem Sterling got a lot of stick from his own supporters amid what quickly turned into an afternoon to forget for the experienced attacker.

He missed a penalty in the first half, after taking the ball away from regular taker Cole Palmer, before missing a sitter in front of goal.

The England international’s misery was then compiled with a free-kick that can easily be described as one of the worst in recent memory, seeing a number of supporters lose their patience once and for all.

Chelsea players notice abuse from fans

The jeers from fans seems to have been noticed by players, with it now being claimed that the squad are aware of it and are concerned at how quickly the situation can become toxic.

Some of the loudest cheers of the afternoon actually came when Mauricio Pochettino finally made the decision to bring Sterling off in place of Noni Madueke, who found the net in his limited minutes to kill the tie.
