There has been a lot of fallout from Chelsea’s win against Everton at Stamford Bridge last night.

Chelsea were able to claim all three points convincingly, beating Everton 6-0.

However, there was one controversial moment in the match when a dispute broke out between Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke over who would take the penalty that had been awarded during the game.

In the end, it was Palmer, who has not missed any of the spot-kicks he has taken this season. It was his 20th goal in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino has warned his players that he does not want a repeat of that incident, while Dele Alli also had something to say on the matter.

Dele Alli seriously unimpressed with Chelsea star

Chelsea have had a lot of penalties this season, including in their previous home win against Manchester United.

Palmer also took that one, which came in stoppage time with the Blues 3-2 down. He converted before scoring again to make it 4-3 to Chelsea.

Alli has highlighted the fact that Jackson was not rushing to try and take the penalty then and, as a result, does not think that the striker should be quick to take a meaningless spot-kick with less pressure.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the Everton star said: “For me this is them showing their age. I’m not there at the training ground every day and don’t know who is the designated penalty taker. But in the last big game, in the last minute, I didn’t see them all fighting to take it then.

“But when it’s 4-0 they want to get on the scoresheet. But if you want to get on the scoresheet as a striker don’t try and do it at 4-0 in an unpressurised situation.”

Should Nicolas Jackson be dropped for his antics?

In the end, Chelsea were not made to pay for all of the chaos Jackson and Madueke brought to the pitch.

Palmer was able to stay calm and convert his spot-kick, while the Blues were already 4-0 up.

This time, there is clearly no need to punish Jackson or Madueke.

With the 22-year-old also the only recognised centre-forward at Stamford Bridge right now, it would make little sense to drop him.
