One Chelsea loanee seems to have caught the attention of a club or two in the Bundesliga.

Sides in different leagues, including the German one, are interested in Omari Hutchinson, Fabrizio Romano recently claimed on Substack.

According to the transfer expert, Chelsea will make a decision on his future in May but are very happy with how his current loan is working out.

Hutchinson is at Ipswich Town right now and has been able to make an impact for Kieran McKenna’s team.

He scored a last-minute winner in Ipswich’s exciting 4-3 win against Rotherham United before following that up with another goal versus Birmingham City.

Omari Hutchinson attracting interest from Germany

If Chelsea do plan on sending Hutchinson out on loan again, then a move to the Bundesliga could be good for him.

It is a division known for development, with Ian Maatsen there now and doing well with Borussia Dortmund, for example.

In the seven games the Dutch youngster has played so far, he has managed to produce a couple of assists, which is not bad for a left-back.

All in all, then, Hutchinson joining a Bundesliga club in the summer is only likely to aid his development. It looks like the 20-year-old is going to have options, though, with Romano claiming that he is also attracting interest from teams in other leagues.

Wherever Hutchinson goes, the most important thing is he plays, which he is doing now at Ipswich. It has been a successful loan under McKenna and hopefully he can build on that next term with another similar loan spell if Chelsea deem him not ready for the first team.

However, if Hutchinson keeps developing at the rate he has been, then he should become good enough for Chelsea’s senior squad at some point, already making his debut for the club last season under former manager Graham Potter.
