9News was exclusively invited along to witness the police operation targeting the alleged rioters at Bass Hill Police Station, in Sydney’s west.
Early-morning raids in the suburbs of Raby, Picnic Point and Edensor Park led to the arrests of the men, aged 25, 31 and 40, now bringing the total number of arrests over the riot up to 14.
All three men were charged with rioting and attempted aggravated break and enter.
Police will allege they were among a group who tried to smash their way into the Christ The Good Shepherd Church after Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was allegedly attacked on April 15.
“We will say they obtained a ladder, they were seeking to smash a part of the church in to gain entry,” Superintendent Andrew Evans said. 
He warned it was not the end of arrests over the riot.
“Tomorrow we will release images of eight males and a female who we wish to speak with,” Evans said.
“I’d encourage those nine people or anyone else that was involved in the riot to hand themselves in.”
The riot broke out after Emmanuel was allegedly stabbed by a 16-year-old boy while delivering a sermon. The 16-year-old remains before the courts after being charged with a terror offence.
As police arrested the boy inside the church, crowds of hundreds rioted outside, leading to officers calling for backup.
Officers were injured and police cars were smashed in the hours-long effort to control the violent group.
“Sixty-one police injured, 109 police vehicles damaged in some way,” Superintendent Andrew Evans said. 
Today’s arrests brought the total number of people arrested over the riots to 14.
