Two men have been charged over their roles in an alleged road rage incident in Sydney’s west earlier this year.

A 25-year-old man was driving on Yerrick Road in Lakemba when a Toyota Corolla reversed from a driveway, allegedly cutting him off in traffic around 5pm on April 5.

Later the driver of the Toyota allegedly cut the other man off in traffic again, stopped his car in the road and pulled out a knife.

Police said the man rushed up to the window of the other car, which drove away allegedly hitting the Toyota.

Police said the Toyota then followed the other car through surrounding streets.

After weeks of investigation, police arrested a 27-year-old man at a home in Granville this morning.

He was charged with a string of driving offences, including knowingly driving in a menacing manner, driving recklessly and furiously, and using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The 27-year-old was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.

The 32-year-man who allegedly owned the Toyota was arrested several days ago at Campsie Police station on Thursday, June 6.

It’s believed he was not in the car at the time but was charged with unlicensed car dealing and not disclosing the identity of the car’s driver.

He was granted bail and will appear before Bankstown Local Court next month.
