Reports have continued to claim that Chelsea are making moves to bring in a new striker this summer.

It has been reported that Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran is near the top of their list, while it was claimed yesterday that they had a bid to sign Samu Omorodion rejected.

It went on to say that Atletico Madrid had absolutely no intentions of losing their young prospect, potentially sending them back to the drawing board.

Some of the top names they have previously been linked with also seem to have now fallen to the wayside.

Benjamin Sesko has signed a new contract with RB Leipzig, while they have reportedly gone off the idea of bringing in Victor Osimhen.

What Chelsea want in a new striker

Now, Matt Law has shared with ‘London is Blue’ what exactly Chelsea are looking for if they bring in another player up front this summer.

He said: “Chelsea are not particularly looking at six-yard box strikers; this is an insight into what they are after. They want someone who can drop deep, run in behind, and link the play. They want a fluid striker to play in Maresca’s system.”

It was reported today that new manager Enzo Maresca is not wanting to go into the new season with just Nicolas Jackson available as a senior striker.

Nicolas Jackson unhappy with Pochettino sacking

The Senegal international has reportedly been one of the first team players who has reacted worst to the news that Mauricio Pochettino had been sacked.

It even went as far as saying that he was assessing his options for next season, however it has been claimed the Blues are by no means interested in selling him.

For all intents and purposes, the club are planning on going into the upcoming campaign with Jackson as their number nine, after he enjoyed what was actually a very strong first season in the Premier League.

Any new addition looks as if it will be a younger player who offers something a bit different to what Jackson already provides the attack.
