Liam Payne leaves fans baffled as he teases celebrity boxing fight against Tommy Fury at Old Trafford with shocking new poster
Liam Payne has baffled his fans after teasing an upcoming fight against none other than Tommy Fury.
The former One Direction star, 29, shared a poster of the pair facing off with the event set to take place at Old Trafford in Manchester.
The poster simply said: ‘This Summer – announcement tomorrow,’ while Liam captioned the post with an eyes emoji.
The singer did not offer any more details than that, with fans having to wait for further information to come on Thursday.
Fans were shocked by the poster, with many wondering if it was a late April Fool’s Day or a ‘wind up’ by the pair.

One fan wrote: ‘April Fool’s surely,’ while Gogglebox star George Bragg agreed, saying: ‘April Fool’s was last week.’
Another demanded more informaton, writing: ‘Liam James Payne please explain,’ while a fourth said: ‘Liam what is that?’
A fifth fan thought the pair might simply be making music together, saying: ‘Have they recorded a song together?’
A sixth fan joked: ‘Liam you are going to be in Payne after this,’ while another said: ‘Don’t tell me you’re boxing’.
Liam is not known to have any boxing experience, having been heavily involved in cross country running before joining One Direction.
Tommy has been a professional boxer since making his debut in 2018 and recently won a celebrity match against Jake Paul.
The judges called the fight 76-73, 76-73, 74-75 in his favour – but with a point deduction and a knockdown against his name, it was far from plain sailing.
This fight between the British former Love Island contestant and the American YouTuber was the result of over two years of social media warfare that saw a clash culminate only at the third time of asking.

Tommy had to pull out of the two previously arranged contests and was bombarded with claims that he was scared to fight the seemingly less decorated boxer in Paul.
The 23-year-old always maintained he had to pull out of his dates with Paul for legitimate injury and visa-related reasons.
It was no wonder after finally being able to prove himself right that the Mancunian was moved to tears as he was announced the victor.
