Embarrassing live TV gaffe on I’m a Celebrity as producer yells ‘get back!’ when Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson makes a big mistake

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! suffered a live TV gaffe on Wednesday.

The latest evictee, Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson, strolled off screen too early after wrapping up his exit interview with hosts Julia Morris and Dr Chris Brown.

The former Australian Idol judge, 60, was leaving the jungle camp via bridge when a producer yelled at home from off screen to ‘get back’.

The red-faced star realised he was walking out of the frame with several seconds of the live broadcast to go, so awkwardly turned round and waltzed back into the shot.

He covered up the awkward mistake by dancing and waving for the cameras, clearly trying to pass off his sudden about-turn as a deliberate move.

The British music executive was sent home on Wednesday after receiving the lowest number votes from the public.

After Julia and Dr Chris announced Dicko would be leaving, he told the other cast members: ‘It’s good, I’ve loved it and it’s time to go. It’s been really special.’

He later said he was ‘really grateful’ for the experience and had made lifelong friends.

‘I wasn’t expecting the lessons I was going to get out of this experience and I really was not expecting to fall in love with strangers like I did. I feel really grateful,’ he said.

Dicko also revealed he believes netball star Liz Ellis will win the show.

‘I’ve got absolutely no doubt about it. As long as she gets to present her light every night,’ he said.

‘She’s one of the single most impressive human beings I’ve had the pleasure of ever spending time with.’
