Last campaign was the most gruelling ever, with hundreds of domestic matches squeezed in around the 2022 World Cup.

The Premier League took a month-long break between mid-November and Boxing Day to factor in the Qatar tournament.

But with no mid-season tournament to consider this year, will there be any break for players to cope with the intense schedule?

Is there a mid-season break this season?

Yes, the Premier League will have a winter break after the festive period from January 14 to January 30, 2024.

Clubs will play their final top-flight games on Saturday, January 13 before enjoying two weekends off from league action.

There is a chance some teams may return to the pitch sooner to play FA Cup matches but that is dependent on third round results.

The Premier League will then return thick and fast with midweek games from Tuesday, January 30 and Wednesday, January 31 before another round of fixtures starts on Saturday, February 2.

When does the 2023/24 Premier League season start? 

The 2023/24 Premier League season will begin on Friday, August 11.

Manchester City will begin their bid for a fourth consecutive Premier League title away to Vincent Kompany’s Burnley live on talkSPORT.

talkSPORT will also be broadcasting Arsenal’s clash with Nottingham Forest and Manchester United against Wolves on opening weekend.

The final round of fixtures will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024.
