Trent Alexander-Arnold has sent a heartfelt message to Jordan Henderson as the midfielder’s Liverpool exit was confirmed.
Henderson confirmed his Reds departure after posting a farewell video on his Instagram account.
The England international agreed to join Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq on a three-year deal, worth a reported £700,000 per week.
After Liverpool confirmed his departure, Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Stefan Bajcetic, Thiago, Andy Robertson and manager Jurgen Klopp all said their goodbyes.
Alexander-Arnold has since posted his own tribute to the 33-year-old midfielder, who spent 12 years at Anfield.
“Skipper, where do I start? The one constant factor in my career since my debut. My Liverpool and England journey we have been together since day 1,” posted Alexander-Arnold.
“To have shared every dressing room with you is something I’ll always cherish. A constant inspiration to me and the perfect role model on a daily basis, following your lead meant I was always on the right path.
“You have done so much for me on and off the pitch, more than you will ever know and for that I’ll never be able to repay you.
“I’ll always be grateful for the support you’ve given me to become a man and a better player. We’ve shared some of the best moments of our lives together, and achieved things we could only dream of as kids. Here’s to the memories we have created..
“Thank you for everything my captain.”
Henderson 492 appearances for Liverpool scoring 33 times, having joined from Sunderland in 2011.
Having won every major club honour including the Premier League and Champions League trophies, Klopp also paid tribute in a video posted online by the club.
“Hi Skipper. We will miss you, you know that. You will miss us, I know that.
“But it’s life. It’s not forever, it’s just a goodbye. It’s wishing good luck, you wished it to us and we wish it to you. We will follow you, you will follow us.
“I said in the beginning when I arrived here that life should be like that we all collect together, and when we are together, we collect together stories. And make it our story.
“And when you look back now already, I think you can’t avoid a smile and I feel exactly the same.”
Klopp added: “So, the longest-serving skipper for me, I always had long-serving skippers. Sebastian] Kehl, seven years. [Dimo] Wache, Seven years and three months, You are seven years and eight or nine months so you won that race as well!”
