Ferne McCann has revealed the sweet meaning behind her newborn Finty’s middle name.
The former TOWIE star, 32, welcomed a baby girl with her businessman fiancé Lorri Haines, 31, earlier this month.
And in a new interview with OK! magazine, Ferne shared that the couple have opted to name their little one Finty Francis Haines-McCann.
Ferne said she chose Francis for her daughter’s middle name, using the traditional male spelling, to honour a very special family member.
Explaining the sweet reason for her middle name, Ferne said: ‘Francis is my grandad’s name – it’s a nod to Grandad Frank.’

The traditional name is of Latin origin, meaning ‘Frenchman’ or ‘free man’.
Going on to reveal the inspiration behind Finty’s unqiue name, she said: ‘I don’t know where I got it from, but when I typed it in [on Google ] I saw Judi Dench ’s daughter’s nickname is Finty.
‘I’ve always loved it and never heard it anywhere else before. I just feel so connected to the name – she came out and she was just Finty. I think she sounds like a character out of Bridgerton.’
The reality star then went on to explain the meaning behind Finty’s middle name, noting that there was a special family connection.
She said: ‘Francis is my grandad’s name – it’s a nod to Grandad Frank.’
And Ferne confessed that she loved the names so much that she was really hoping to give birth to another girl, joking that she sees herself as the ‘the Essex Kris Jenner’ with an ‘army of girls’.
She added that she sees herself having ‘two more’ children, quipping that she’d ‘have another one tomorrow’ if she could, though she ‘couldn’t see myself’ with a baby boy.
During the chat, the mother-of-two opened up about Finty’s home birth, which was filmed for the star’s reality show First Time Mum.
However, despite saying she really ‘just can’t wait to share’ the special moment with her fans, Ferne said the question of whether to air the birth is ‘currently in discussions’ with her fiancé Lorri.

She explained that while expecting Sunday, she was a single parent so didn’t have to ‘deliberate or liaise’ with anyone else, but this time around, she has to ‘cross things past’ Lorri and come to an agreement together.
Ferne has daughter Sunday, five, from a previous relationship with jailed acid attacker Arthur Collins. Lorri also has a son named Noah, who the same age as Sunday with his ex partner.
Meanwhile, the TV personality shared that her eldest child Sunday has already bonded with the tot after happily taking on the ‘big sister role’, with Sunday even loving changing her sister’s nappy because she finds the poo ‘hysterical’.
She added that the youngster hasn’t quite grasped how ‘delicate’ the newborn is yet and just wants to hold her all the time, with Ferne noting that Sunday is ‘obsessed’ with Finty.
Announcing the news of her baby girl earlier this month, Ferne shared a black and white video of her little one on Instagram.
Ferne, her daughter Sunday and Lorri then all placed their hands on top of the little girl’s tummy.
Captioning the video, she wrote: ‘It’s a girl 06.07.23’.
She set the video to a cover of Shaggy’s hit song Angel, with lyrics that go: ‘Girl, you’re my angel. You’re my darling angel. Closer than my peeps you are to me, baby.’

Her famous friends rushed to the comments to give their congratulations to the couple, including some of her TOWIE co-stars.
Jess Wright wrote: ‘Congratulations’ with a slew of heart emojis, while Mario Falcone said: ‘Massive congratulations to you all, a little friend for Cali ❤️’.
Ferne announced she is expecting a baby with Lorri last year, but they didn’t find out the gender of their child so it could be a surprise.
Ferne and Lorri got engaged in July 2022, with Ferne previously stating their relationship feels ‘right’ after they bonded over their trauma.
